Terms of Service
Version 2026-10-15.3 · Last updated October 15, 2026
Gather is for adults 18+ only. These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Masud Ahmed Uddin, an individual operating Gather at https://gatherspace.app (“we”, “us”). Gather is not a company or LLC. By creating a profile you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Section 12 requires individual arbitration and waives class actions. Please read it.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You confirm the information you give us is accurate. We may ask you to verify your age or identity and may close accounts we believe belong to anyone under 18.
Adults only; nothing involving minors. Gather is only for adults 18 and over. You may not create, post or arrange any group, crew, channel, meetup, open spot, message or other content that involves, targets or mentions children or minors (for example kids' activities, youth sports, tutoring children, schools, babysitting or meetups with children present), or contact anyone you believe may be under 18. We may quietly decline or remove such content. Where we see signs of child sexual exploitation, we immediately remove the content, suspend the account, preserve the evidence and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement as required by law.
Where Gather is available. Gather is launching in a limited service area. We do not currently accept new sign-ups from: (a) the US states of Florida, Tennessee and Mississippi; (b) the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and the United Kingdom; (c) Australia; (d) Russia, Belarus and mainland China; and (e) countries and regions subject to comprehensive US sanctions or otherwise excluded for sanctions reasons, currently Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria and the Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. We use your approximate location (from your internet connection) to apply this, and we may add or remove places at any time as laws and court rulings change. You may not use a VPN, proxy or other means to get around these limits. If you are in one of these places, please do not create a profile.
Sanctions and export control. You confirm that you are not located in, ordinarily resident in, or acting on behalf of anyone in a country or region listed in (e) above, and that you are not on, or owned or controlled by anyone on, a US, UK, EU or UN sanctions or restricted-party list (including the OFAC Specially Designated Nationals List). You will not use or export Gather in breach of US export-control or sanctions laws. We may suspend or close any account we reasonably believe breaks this section, without notice.
2. What Gather is, and isn't
Gather uses software, including AI, to suggest people, crews and communities to connect with for projects, business, friendship and community. Gather is not a dating service, and romantic or sexual solicitation is not allowed. Gather is a beta service and may change, break or shut down at any time. We do not guarantee that you will be matched, that a crew will form, that anyone will respond, or that any meetup will happen or go well.
3. AI and automated matching
Matches, introductions, summaries, tasks and suggestions are generated automatically by AI and can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable. We do not run background checks, verify identities (unless stated), or vouch for any member. You decide who to connect with, and you rely on AI output at your own risk.
4. Your account
You sign in with a private link. Keep it secret: anyone with it can access your account. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at once if your link is exposed.
5. Content and acceptable use
You own what you post, and you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, process (including with AI) and share it with other members as needed to run Gather. You must follow our Community Standards. In particular, you must not:
- harass, threaten, bully, stalk, dox or intimidate anyone;
- post hate speech, or content that insults or mocks any religion, including Islam and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ;
- post sexual content, nudity, or anything involving minors, or solicit dating or sex;
- post illegal content or promote violence, terrorism, weapons trafficking, drugs or self-harm;
- scam, spam, impersonate others, run pyramid schemes, or request money or financial details from members;
- infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- scrape, hack, overload, reverse-engineer or bypass security or rate limits, or use bots to send unapproved messages;
- use Gather to recruit people who have opted out or to send unsolicited bulk messages.
Moderation. Members can report messages, profiles, crews, groups and open spots. A person reviews reports, and we aim to act on child-safety and threat reports within 24 hours and on others within 72 hours. We may automatically hold back messages or content that clearly break these rules. We may warn you, remove content, remove you from a crew, or suspend or ban your account, with or without notice. When we act on your account, we'll usually tell you why. You can appeal within 30 days by emailing contact@gatherspace.app with the subject “Appeal”, and a person will review it. Crew leaders and co-leaders can also remove members from their crew.
Legal requests and retention. We disclose member data to law enforcement or others only in response to valid legal process (such as a subpoena, court order or warrant), when required by law, or in a good-faith emergency involving danger of death or serious injury. We tell affected members where we lawfully can. We keep crew-room messages for 180 days, and longer only where needed for an open safety case, a legal hold or a legal duty (for example, child-safety reports are preserved for one year as US law requires). See our Privacy Policy.
Allowed activities. Gather is for low-risk activities: building projects and businesses, learning and study, creative work, faith and community service, and casual social or fitness meetups. We don't support crews or meetups for dangerous or high-risk activities (including weapons, firearms or hunting, combat, extreme or high-risk sports such as climbing, skydiving or MMA), groups that give medical, legal or financial advice, anything involving minors or children's groups, overnight trips, or first meetups at a private home. We may quietly decline group names, descriptions or suggestions that fall outside the allowed activities, or that we can't confidently place in them. You are responsible for anything you arrange outside these limits.
6. Recruiter and invites
Your personal recruiter (including Grok Bot or another AI assistant you choose to use) only drafts invites. You review and approve every invite before it is sent, and you are the sender. You must follow the rules of each platform you use, anti-spam laws (including CAN-SPAM and TCPA), and honor anyone who asks not to be contacted. We block invites to people on our opt-out list.
Referral rewards. Invite rewards are free Pro time and badges only. They have no cash value and can't be sold, transferred or exchanged for money. A reward is earned once per new adult account that joins a crew whose kickoff is confirmed, up to the limit shown on your Invites page. Self-referrals, duplicate or fake accounts, and invites that make false claims or skip the disclosure “I get Pro time if you join” don't qualify, and we may remove rewards earned that way. We may change or end the program; rewards already earned stay.
7. Meeting people and safety
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members, online and in person. We do not screen members and are not responsible for anyone's conduct. Meet in public places first, tell someone where you're going, arrange your own transport, never send money, and leave if you feel uncomfortable. Read our Meetup Safety guide and safety page. In an emergency, call 911.
In-person meetups. Gather does not organize, host, supervise, insure or attend in-person meetups, and does not check venues. Any meetup is arranged by members on their own initiative and at their own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release us from claims arising from meeting or dealing with other members, online or offline. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code §1542, which says: “A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party.”
8. Third-party services
Groups may move to Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram, X, LinkedIn or other services, and you may use third-party AI tools. Their terms apply there, and we are not responsible for them.
9. Paid plans
We don't charge anything right now. When paid plans launch, these terms apply:
- Automatic renewal. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly, or yearly if you choose annual) at the price shown at checkout, plus any applicable tax, and we charge your payment method each period until you cancel. Before you pay, we show the price, how often you'll be charged and how to cancel, and you must tick a separate, unticked box to agree.
- Free trials. If your plan includes a free trial, we show the trial length, the date your first charge happens and the amount before you start. We email you a reminder before the trial ends (at least 3 days before), and you won't be charged if you cancel before the trial ends.
- Reminders and price changes. For yearly plans, we email you 15 to 45 days before each renewal with the price and how to cancel. If we change a plan's price, we tell you at least 7 days (and no more than 30 days) before the new price applies, and how to cancel. The new price applies only from your next billing period.
- Cancel anytime, online. Cancel any time with the Manage subscription button on your Gather page. It takes effect immediately for future renewals, with no call or email needed. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. If we show you an offer when you cancel, you can skip it and finish cancelling right away.
- Confirmation. After you subscribe, we email you a confirmation with your plan, price, billing frequency, renewal terms, trial details (if any) and how to cancel.
- Refunds. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments aren't refundable, including for partial periods or unused time. If we charged you in error or twice, email contact@gatherspace.app within 60 days and we'll refund it.
- Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. If a payment fails, we may retry it and may pause paid features until it's resolved. You're responsible for applicable taxes.
- Records. We keep a record of your consent to automatic renewal as required by law, even after you cancel.
10. Disclaimers
GATHER IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY OR UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY. WE DO NOT WARRANT ANY MATCH, MEMBER, OUTCOME OR AI OUTPUT.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, OR FOR ANY CONDUCT OF ANY MEMBER OR THIRD PARTY, ONLINE OR OFFLINE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF US$100 OR WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law allows. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your conduct or your breach of these Terms.
12. Dispute resolution: arbitration and class-action waiver
Please first email us at contact@gatherspace.app and give us 30 days to try to resolve any dispute informally. If we can't, you and we agree to resolve any dispute by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, instead of in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies, and either party may seek court relief for intellectual-property misuse. You and we waive any right to a jury trial and to bring or join any class, collective or representative action. If the class waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim proceeds in court, not arbitration. You may opt out of this Section within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing contact@gatherspace.app with the subject “Arbitration opt-out”.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, and the Federal Arbitration Act, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to Section 12, courts in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction.
14. Copyright (DMCA)
If you believe content on Gather infringes your copyright, send a notice under 17 U.S.C. §512 to our designated agent, Masud Ahmed Uddin, at contact@gatherspace.app (subject “DMCA”), including your signature, the work, the infringing material and its location, your contact details, a good-faith statement and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized. We remove or disable material identified in a valid notice and tell the member who posted it. That member may send a counter-notice under §512(g) with the same details plus consent to federal court jurisdiction. We may restore the material 10–14 business days later unless the complainant tells us they have filed suit. We terminate repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. Knowingly false notices or counter-notices can lead to liability under §512(f). For other content complaints (privacy, harassment, defamation), email contact@gatherspace.app with the subject “Takedown”.
15. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. We may suspend or end your access at any time. Sections 3, 5 (license for content already shared), 7 and 10–16 survive.
16. Changes and general
We may update these Terms. We'll post the new version and date here and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use means you accept them. If any part is unenforceable, the rest stays in force. These Terms are the entire agreement between us.
